Sony PS-T25

Sony PS-T25 turntable

We currently have this item up for auction in our Catawiki store.

The Sony PS-T25 is a technically quite advanced turntable, built in 1979. It is fitted with a direct drive motor and pitch control with a stroboscope. Because all controls are on the front-side, and not overlapped by the dust cover, it can be used with the lid closed.

The turntable is fully automatic, with lead-in, auto-return, reject and repeat functionality.

The speed of the platter is constantly monitored by a 5-pole magnetic head and pulse coated platter.

The unit is fitted with a brushless and slotless motor that is unique to Sony turntables. Because of this, the motor is maintenance-free, in that it doesn’t need new oil on regular basis. It has great torque and gets the platter up to the correct speed very quickly.

An interesting and seemingly unique feature to Sony turntables is a hole in the chassis next to the arm, where a spare headshell can be stored.

Mechanical parts have been re-greased where necessary.

The item is located in The Netherlands, but we can ship worldwide.
